We have so many of these orchid plants so I am sure we can find one in bloom year-around! Woohoo! This beautiful orchid is now known as Dendrobium lindleyi. Dendrobium lindleyi is a plant of the genus Dendrobium. Dendrobium orchids are true epiphytes or air plants, meaning they use the air you and I breathe to live. They are found in Southeast Asian mountains and flowers in spring with an inflorescences of about 10-30 cm (4-12 in) long having 5 to 15 flowers. The inflorescence is gray in color but when the flowers open, it is bright yellow. The flowers are mildly fragrant and smell like honey! They are grown on a stick usually manzinita wood and make a great gift to that orchid collector on your gift list.
Our Dendrobium aggregatum (lindleyi) are grown in cork board that measures approximately 8x8 - they are required to grow wall mounted or they can be placed in an orchid growing pot.
