This looks like Dendrobium hanensis but it's not, the stems are thicker and while den. hanensis produces black canes, den. hancockii has stems that are more yellow, almost orange. This marvelous ground orchid is distributed throughout Southern China but has become very rare for 2 special reasons:
1st, it combines the looks of a bamboo with the golden flowers of an orchid;
2nd, the flowers have a strong aromatic perfume scent similar to honey;
3rd, it has medical properties.
Consequently, the species has disappeared from the wild.
Hence, we have made it our goal to reproduce this wonderful species in large quantities and re-introduce it to Chinese culture.
A truly extraordinary orchid that requires space and a bit of shade. It grows up to 2 meters tall and can form wonderful "bamboo" thickets
