Orchid Plants - Which one is your favorite?
 The five most popular orchid plants are.. in order of popularity.. drum roll please.. Phalaenopsis, Oncidium, Cymbidium, Cattleya, Dendrobium and the species orchids. This is not the official list of the most popular varieties, but represents generally the most popular orchid varieties. From this list, my favorite variety of orchid is: the Cattleya orchid. I like this orchid plant for three reasons. One, it is a true epiphyte or air plant. It lives of the nutrients in the air.. amazing! Second, the orchid flowers are most always fragrant. Many of the large flowering Cattleya orchid plants smell like bubblegum. Finally, they are not very common. You don't usually see Cattleya orchid plants in flower shops or orchid vendors.
