This beautiful lady slipper orchid called Paphiopedilum Vanguard (paph. rothchildiamum x paph. moquetianum) has beautiful green foliage that produces a distinctive flower which has a bright maroon labellum with long sepals that can extend back away from the front. A closer look at the sepals reveals hairs that may be used to absorb moisture from the air. Depending on the growing conditions, Paphiopedilum Vanguard produces a maroon labellum that contrast beautifully with the back petal which can be green or brown.
