With a name like Gongora, this orchid has to be weird.  First, the design of the flower is so complex it is hard to describe but the flowers are fragrant so that makes it extra special.  The flowers of Gongora maculata x (Red) smell like cinnamon mixed with the scent of a baked cake.  The scent is not crisp and you may think the flowers are edible - but don't eat it! It's much too unusual and very special orchid plant.  The pseudo bulbs are ridged on which extend beautiful green foliage.  Buy one of these orchids and see if you can guess what it smells like.  The flower stem should be allowed to hang pendant like.  It is sold in our large, one gallon container.
