Orchid Plants
Orchid plants come in many colors but none more exquisite than white
Here is an interesting idea.. if orchid plants have always existed (i make that statement after reading an article that orchid pollen was found on a bee fossilized in amber) then it is only natural that they be so ubiquitous. I mean, orchid plants are everywhere these days or is that my reticulated thinking where all I see is orchids. So here is my theory.. if orchids have existed on earth for millions of years (orchid fossils have been found in the mesozoic era) then the fact they are now everywhere is a natural evolution of this very special plant.
The poinsettia plant is still the most popular flowering plant in the world. Statistics prove year after year the poinsettia plant still outsells orchid plants. This is amazing since poinsettia plants are only sold in those few weeks leading into Christmas day, December 25. I love Christmas so seeing a fully blooming poinsettia plant in just the right setting - there is no prettier site. Poinsettia plants are so popular because they have become synonymous with Christmas.. as traditional as the Christmas tree, Christmas lights or religious statues. Which leads me into the reason for my post.
