The "Slipper Orchids" have long been highly prized. The range of the the genus Paphiopedilum extends from India eastward across southern China to the Philippines, throughout Southeast Asia and Malaysia, to New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. Paphiopedilum orchids are surprisingly easy to care for and are perfect for the orchid hobbyist. Many orchids have been in collections for years. With proper care paphiopedilum orchids can last in a collection for a life time.
