OrchidGram! Featured Orchid
Plant:
Cirrhopetalum rothschildianum
| When it comes to orchids, it doesn't get any more unique
than our Cirrhopetalum rothschildianum (abbreviated Cirr.)
orchid
that produces flowers that seem almost impossible to describe.
The curling shape of the lower sepals creates a cylinder
shape but it's actually two petals coming together. These two
petals, known as sepals, have long hair like ends which adds
even more to this orchids' unique appeal. The bright
red, almost fuchsia color is just right for the season.
It's fragrant too! Add a decorative basket and your gift
is complete. Send one today and we will get it there
before Christmas. |

Cirrhopetalum,
abbreviated as Cirr, is a genus of epiphytic orchids.
This genus is very closely related to Bulbophyllum and its
members have been until recently considered to be in the genus
Bulbophyllum. The taxon name comes from Latin cirrus (fringe)
and Greek petalon (petal), hence meaning fringed-petaled. |
